Begins to develop 3-5 years after football players end their illustrious careers. Pro football players fade away from attention after retirement and then the damage caused by repeated blows to their forehead, where the vital Pre-Frontal Cortex is located causes:

Boston University performed autopsies on 376 deceased NFL players.
It was determined that 345 (91.7%) had CTE {Feb, 2023}
Principle Investigator Anne McKee, MD says "the biggest risk factor for CTE is not the violence of one or two isolated head blows, but rather the smaller, repetitive head impacts, like those that football players experience throughout a game or season. Those repeated blows cause a buildup of misfolded tau protein in the brain..."
